Here you will be able to admire more than 100 bears rescued over the years from a life of torment. In the second part of the day, we’ll set off together to the place called ‘Heaven on Earth’. This is the village of Magura, a special village surrounded by nature, where the houses are scattered on the hills. A place where time has stood still and technology has not yet found its way in. A place of nature, where you will again feel the joy of your childhood.

The tour begins in the morning, you will be picked up from your hotel or accommodation in Brasov and we will start by visiting the Bear Sanctuary. The next stop will take us to Magura Village, where we can take lunch, available for an additional cost. You can always let us know what your preferences are so that we may prepare the trip accordingly.

The Brown Bear Sanctuary – Home to more than 100 rescued bears

The brown bear sanctuary is located 30 minutes drive from Brasov, where we will pick you up. The sanctuary has become home to no less than 130 brown bears, rescued from captivity, from a life spent in cages or chains. Here they have learned what it means to be a real bear, to climb trees and bathe in specially designed pools. Their diet is determined by experienced veterinarians. They also get all the medical attention they need. Many of them will stay here for life, as they can’t readjust to a real life as a forest bear.

Also in the Bear Sanctuary you can admire other animal species, such as deer, peacocks or even some donkeys and dogs.

Magura Village or Heaven on Earth

We continue our day with an easy Hiking tour in Magura, the village also called “Heaven on Earth” because of its beautiful landscapes and the fact that technology has not yet penetrated here. In Magura, an ordinary day goes on as it did decades ago, in the quiet of the day and in the arms of nature. Only tourists come here from time to time to spend a pleasant day hiking or simply enjoying the outdoors.

After such an exciting day, it’s time to take lunch. If you prefer, we can arrange a lunch with homegrown ingredients, in one of the locals farm in Magura, or just a simple picnic. The meal is not included in the price of the trip.
