TRANSYLVANIA  3 DAYS Tour

Are you looking to spend a unique holiday in the heart of Romania? You have probably visited this beautiful country before, or probably not. Either way, we have prepared a special 3-day tour to suit you. It is ideal even for families with younger children, so we invite you to an unforgettable adventure. This multi-day tour includes everything you could want for a relaxing stay in the middle of nature, but full of history at the same time. You will definitely not get bored!

Day 1: Bucharest – Peleș Castle – Bran Castle – Poiana Brașov

We will be leaving Bucharest as early as in the morning to make sure we have enough time. We will discuss the final details of the departure together before you arrive here. Our first stop will be at Peles Castle, an imposing castle, full of history and very grand. In fact, it is a palace in the true sense of the word, but the locals call it “castle”. It was the first fully electrified castle in its time, when it was inaugurated in 1883.

The castle is surrounded by fabulous mountain scenery and extensive terraces. During the summer it is visited by many tourists from all over the world. Its fame is almost as great as that of Bran Castle. The interior of the castle is, in fact, a museum with weapons, artefacts and old furniture. The castle is usually closed on Mondays and in November for maintenance.

Our next stop takes us to the famous Bran Castle, Count Dracula’s Castle. Here we will find out if Dracula really lived here or not, if he performed some dark rituals and in general what life he actually led. There is also a torture chamber inside the castle, which is not worth missing.

After this unforgettable adventure, you will have the opportunity to relax in nature. More precisely, we will start to a very popular mountain resort in the area, but also in the whole country. It is Poiana Brasov. This mountain resort attracts countless tourists every year, but especially in the winter season. Here, in winter, is the kingdom of sports, such as skiing or snowboarding. There are also a lot of enthusiasts who just come to have fun and go sledding. If you choose to visit Poiana Brasov in the summer months, however, its paths will be waiting for you with open arms for a relaxing walk in nature.

We will end this wonderful one-day adventure at a 3-star hotel in Brasov. All the details of your accommodation will be discussed before your arrival in Brasov.

Day 2: Sighișoara & Viscri Village

Start the second day by exploring the Saxon’s best keep secrets in Transylvania. Sighisoara or “The Medieval Pearl of Romania” is located in the heart of Transylvania, 120 km from Brasov and 55 km from Targu-Mures and is one of the few medieval towns in the world today and the only well-preserved and populated town in Romania with a special image. The town is situated on a hill, where long ago the Sighisoara Fortress was built and is also called Dealul Cetății.

At the top of a hill there is a fortified fortress with fortifications and secret passages and a clock tower, as well as the house where Vlad the Impaler, known to tourists as Dracula, once lived. The layout of the medieval town or fortress is typical of German towns founded in the Middle Ages.

In Sighisoara, recreational tourism is practised, rebuilding the link between man and nature, so the favourite places here for rest and recreation are Dealul Gării, Platoul Breite and Hula Danesului.

Every year Sighisoara hosts the medieval festival called “Sighisoara Medieval” which every year comes with different activities and shows designed to delight Romanian and foreign tourists for a few days.

After visiting this beautiful medieval town, we start towards another special attraction of the area, namely – Viscri village.

Viscri is one of the most famous villages in Romania, visited and appreciated by both Romanians and foreign tourists. The village of Viscri became popular in Europe after Prince Charles bought a property there.

The most important landmark is the spectacular Saxon fortified church, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. As well as the church itself, which is an unexpected oasis of coolness, you can also climb the tower, from where you can admire the village from above.

In the churchyard, you will also find a museum with a variety of Saxon artefacts: traditional costumes, embroidery and looms. There is also an exhibition of traditional and modern terracotta.

Viscri warmly awaits your visit. The locals are simple people who work hard to make a living. A local custom that has become widespread is that the villagers sew wool socks, which are later sold on the market in Germany. This custom was implemented some time ago by a wealthy local family who wanted to help the women of the village earn a living.

After visiting these areas, we will safely return to your accommodation in Brasov.

Day 3: Bear Sanctuary, a magical mountain village and return to Bucharest (optional)

The Libearty Sanctuary, the largest brown bear sanctuary in the world, is located in a 69-hectare oak forest in Zărnești, Brașov County. It is also considered the “most ethical” animal sanctuary in the world.

In the almost 16 years since the reserve was established, more than 110 bears have been rescued and now live happily and peacefully in their natural environment. Romania has the largest population of brown bears, a species protected by national and European laws.

Today, the Sanctuary is open to tourists from all over the world. The best time to visit the bears is in the morning, during breakfast. At that time, they come out of their hiding places and eagerly eat fruit, vegetables and other food donated by local restaurants or purchased with Sanctuary money. After breakfast, the animals usually retreat into the forest and cannot be seen so easily.

After visiting the Bear Sanctuary, we head to a special location on the hearts of many locals and tourists. It is a mountain village called the Cave. The village is extremely airy, beautiful and quiet. Although more and more tourists are travelling through its paths, the village is still untouched by modern technology. Its carriages are linear and the landscapes are majestic. The locals are quiet but industrious and welcoming. The quietness here will always remain in your soul, and the cave will always be a place where you will want to return again… and again…

The last day of this tour will bring us back to Bucharest, whether it’s time to leave or if your next adventure starts here. Alternatively, you can stay more days in Brasov, or you can opt for other tours with us. We are flexible and are always looking for the best combination of trips for our client groups.
