The tour is perfect for you if you are a family or you simply would like to visit many places in one single area, rather than having to rush from town to town and from accommodation to accommodation. This tour is also for you if you’re planning to visit Romania for a few days and would like to get the most out of your visit.

Day 1: Bucharest – Slănic Prahova Saline – Prejmer Fortified Church

We start our very first day by departing from Bucharest at 9:00 A.M. More details regarding the exact location of the departure will be discussed prior to your arrival, depending on your location. We will then be travelling to the Slanic Prahova Saline, which is an old salt mine, located roughly at 100 km from Bucharest. It’s main purpose is of extraction of the salt, however various parts are also open to the general public. The inside microclimate has natural air conditioning and natural temperature. We advise you to dress properly because the mine is situated 208 meters below the ground level and the temperature is normally lower than outside.

Our second stop is optional and may include taking lunch in Cheia, a beautiful mountain resort. It is surrounded by the Ciucas Mountains, and we will have the opportunity to taste the local produce at one of the local restaurants. What could be more relaxing than a nice lunch on a terrace, surrounded by the mighty and still mountains of the area?

Going forward, we will visit a fortified church: Prejmer Fortified Church. It will give you a glimpse into the past. Back then, churches were more than places where people prayed; they were merely used as places of refuge during times of war.

We will end this beautiful and full day in Brasov, at a 3 star hotel accommodation. More details regarding your accommodation will be discussed prior to your arrival.

Day 2: Take a tour of Brașov, meet the rescued bears from the Bear Sanctuary and visit the marvelous Peștera mountain village

Our second day is dedicated to spending time in nature and reconnecting with it. We start the day by picking you up directly from your accommodation, after breakfast, and going on a local Brasov Tour, in the Centre of the town. You will have the opportunity to see each building and street and find out the history behind. This will most likely give you a better understanding of the city that we love so much!

After the morning tour, we will go straight to the Libearty Sanctuary in Zarnesti. This Sanctuary was built with the help of the Town Hall of Zarnesti and it is the biggest brown bear sanctuary in the world! Over 130 bears have been rescued from an abusive life where they were kept in tiny cages and had cement under their paws, instead of grass. Now, because most bears are simply unable to be reintroduced into the wild, they live a comfortable and stress-free life inside the Sanctuary. Hundreds of volunteers have made this project possible and the bears have 69 hectares of oak forest at their disposal, with swimming pools and trees they can climb. A very beautiful, beary life!

After meeting with our bear friends, we will go to Pestera Village, probably the most amazing mountain village in Romania. Pestera is a place where time stops, and it invites you to stop and live in the present. A number of local spirituality retreats are also being held here from time to time. The place certainly has magic of it’s own. Being surrounded by the Bucegi Mountains, at a 1600 m altitude, Pestera is the perfect destination of groups and families that want to recharge with positive energy and relax their mind and body.

Lunch can be taken at a local restaurant, depending on when and where you will want to. After visiting the village, we will safely return to your accommodation in Brasov.

Day 3: Dracula’s Castle and Peleș Castle, return to Bucharest

This day is perfect if you are simply in love with the history of the medieval castle of Bran (or Dracula’s Castle, as it is called) and would like to visit it. Built in the 13th Century, Bran Castle is an intriguing hilltop fortress, and one of the most famous landmarks in Romania. After the visit, we will go to another marvelous castle, Peles Castle. This castle was built at the end of 1800s at the foothills of Bucegi Mountains and remained one of the favorite summer residences of the Romanian Royal Family until their forced abdication in 1947. Amazingly preserved, the Castle offers a glimpse into the sparkling life of the past centuries.

The end of day three will takes us back to Bucharest if your next adventure starts there. Alternatively, you may choose to stay in Brasov for longer or even personalize this tour.
