A horse ranch surrounded by nature awaits you
Our day starts early in the morning when we pick you up from your accommodation. We’ll set off to an authentic local horse ranch, and arrive there in about 30 minutes. From here, our adventure begins!
After initial preparations and warming up on the horses, we set off on a 3 hour horseback ride. Here you will have the opportunity to explore the unique and untouched nature of Transylvania. You will admire the local forests, hills, rivers and lakes, untouched since ancient times. You will enjoy fresh air, good spirits and a lot of relaxation and connection with horses. The possibility to ride alone, without your horse being held (by the halter) by a horse career will complete this experience. All the members of the group will be riding their own horse, and two guides will join: the horse guide who makes sure everything is in order, and the guide we provide, who takes care of the whole trip.
The 3 hours include breaks for snacks, drinks and taking pictures.
After completing the route, which is chosen according to the level of experience of the group, but also according to the weather conditions, we return to the ranch where we will have lunch. This is included in the price of the day trip and includes starter, main course and dessert. All ingredients are locally grown, and you will have the opportunity to meet and socialize with Romanians. You can also taste our local and famous drinks such as țuica and palinca.
The trip also includes a visit to the stables, where you will admire over 30 horses of 5 different breeds, as well as goats, ponies, cows, dogs and sheep.
Diving into history: a visit to the Harman Fortified Church nearby, built by the German Saxons in times of need
The second part of the day brings us to the Fortified Church of Harman, a place that looks like something out of a fairy tale of princes and princesses. Here you can imagine what wars were like with knights on horseback and how ordinary people lived their lives near their farms and animals. The fortified church was built in 1240, its tower was annexed in 1300 and the murals in the 15th Century.
You’ll be able to see its 6 meters thick and high walls, as well as climb the bell tower, which is visible from a distance. You will have time to see every object, every wall and corner of this wonderful Saxon defensive construction.
