These two villages lie at the border of Piatra Craiului National Park and are part of a protected area that keeps safe the traditional way of life on the mountain villagers. With spectacular views of two mountain ranges, a hike through Magura and Pestera villages can be as educative as challenging and will leave you with a deep appreciation of the richness these people and places have to offer.

Description

Additional information:

Easy 8 to 12 km trail , 400 -500 m elevation height, total 5 to 6 hours hike on wide pats with no exposure or dangerous cliffs. This trip is suitable to families or any other groups of people that can walk on various terrain for half a day. Travelers should have a moderate physical fitness level .

Mandatory gear:

Hiking boots and clothes that suits the outside weather, back packs, rain coat, small snack, 2 L of water

Recommended gear:

Hat, sun cream, ticks spray , hiking sticks

Schedule:

Pick up time is at 8:30 A.M. from your accommodation in Brasov. Driving to Pestera mountain village will take around 1 hour and this is the place where our hiking trip starts. The total length of the hike will take approx. 5-6 hours. We return back to Brasov around 4-5 P.M.
