ITINERARY
Day 1: Bucharest – Slănic Prahova Salt Mine – Prejmer Fortified Church
Day 2: Brasov Old Town Tour – Bear Sanctuary – Mountain Villages – Traditional Lunch
Day 3: Bran Castle – Peles Castle – Return to Bucharest

DAY 1
Bucharest - Slănic Salt Mine - Prejmer Fortified Church – Brașov
We begin our journey with a 9:00 AM departure from Bucharest (exact pick-up point to be discussed before arrival). Our first stop is the Slănic Prahova Salt Mine, an underground marvel located in between Bucharest and Brasov. Situated 208 meters below ground level, the mine boasts a constant microclimate, clean air, and impressive chambers sculpted in salt. A light jacket is recommended — temperatures inside are cooler than outside.
After the salt mine, we continue toward Transylvania, where we’ll visit the Prejmer Fortified Church, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the best-preserved fortified churches in Eastern Europe. Originally built for spiritual refuge, this place gives you a unique glimpse into medieval village life.
We’ll end the day in Brașov, where you’ll spend the evening at leisure. Take a walk through the charming Old Town, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant, or simply relax and take in the atmosphere — the tour continues the next morning.

DAY 2
Brașov Old town Tour – Bear Sanctuary – Peștera Mountain Village
After breakfast, we’ll take a walking tour of Brașov’s Old Town, discovering medieval walls, towers, and colorful baroque buildings. Highlights include the Council Square, Black Church, and Rope Street – one of the narrowest in Europe.
Next, we drive to Libearty Bear Sanctuary in Zărnești, the world’s largest brown bear sanctuary. Over 130 rescued bears now live freely in this 69-hectare forest, complete with trees, swimming pools (for bears), and open space – a far better option from the cages and abuse they endured in the past.
In the afternoon, we’ll head to the serene Peștera Village, hidden at 1,600 m in the Bucegi Mountains. Known for its healing energy and silence, it’s a favorite destination for nature lovers, photographers, and families looking to recharge. Lunch is included and will be served in a mountain village, featuring traditional home-cooked dishes. We return to Brașov in the evening, where you can enjoy a pleasant overnight stay at the same hotel.

DAY 3
Bran Castle – Peleș Castle – Return to Bucharest
We begin the last day with a visit to the iconic Bran Castle, often linked to the Dracula legend. Built in the 13th century and perched on a dramatic hilltop, this fortress will immerse you in legends, myths, and history. Inside, you’ll find royal chambers, antique furniture, and secret stairways. And even a torture room, which fuels the myths behind today’s legends.
From Bran, we continue to the Peleș Castle, one of Europe’s most stunning royal residences. Built in the late 1800s for King Carol I, this Neo-Renaissance palace is decorated with complex woodwork, stained glass, and weapons collections.
In the afternoon, we drive back to Bucharest (drop-off at your hotel or another agreed location).
