DAY 1

Pick-up from Bucharest – Peleș Castle – Prejmer

Your Transylvanian journey begins with a morning pick-up from your hotel or the airport in Bucharest. Sit back and enjoy the scenic drive toward the Carpathian Mountains as we leave the busy capital behind and head for the fresh mountain air.

Our first stop is Peleș Castle, situated in the picturesque town of Sinaia. This architectural gem, once the summer residence of Romania’s royal family, is considered one of the most beautiful castles in Europe.

Next, we continue to Prejmer, a peaceful Saxon village in the heart of Transylvania. Here we’ll visit the fortified church of Prejmer, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the best-preserved medieval fortresses in Romania. With thick defensive walls and centuries of history, it offers a powerful glimpse into Transylvania’s past.

By late afternoon, we’ll arrive in Brașov, your home for the next four nights. Settle into your accommodation and enjoy your first evening in this charming medieval town.

DAY 2

Racoș Geological Reserve – Viscri Saxon Village

Today, enjoy a light hike through the Racoș Geological Reserve. From the also called Emerald Lake, we’ll walk to the nearby volcanic crater – an easy yet fascinating walk. Afterward, we’ll visit the charming village of Viscri, famous for its fortified church and traditional Saxon houses. Lunch is included, featuring delicious homemade dishes (three courses with local drinks).

Did you know?

King Charles III (formerly Prince Charles) fell in love with this area and even bought and restored a traditional house in Viscri, helping preserve its cultural heritage and promote sustainable rural tourism.

DAY 3

Bear Watching Experience & Bran Castle

Start your day with a unique bear watching experience in the wild forests of Transylvania. Early in the morning, you’ll be guided to a special wildlife observatory hidden deep in the woods, where — with a bit of luck and patience — you can quietly observe brown bears roaming freely in their natural habitat. It’s a rare and unforgettable moment of connection with nature.

Later, continue your journey to one of Romania’s most iconic landmarks: Bran Castle, often associated with the Dracula legend. Wander through its narrow staircases, stone corridors, and medieval rooms as you uncover the real stories that inspired the myth.

DAY 4

Ciucas Mountains Hike with Jeep Transfer

Today, we’ll start by driving in a normal car to the base of the Ciucas Mountains. From there, the adventure continues with an exciting jeep ride (included in the price) along rugged forest roads up to Ciucas Cabin, the starting point of our hike.

The hike will take us to the summit of Ciucas Peak, where you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding Carpathians.

After reaching the summit, we’ll descend back to the cabin and enjoy the jeep ride down approximately 13 km of scenic mountain roads.

During the hike, you’ll be provided with a delicious packed lunch featuring local flavors to keep your energy up.

DAY 5

Return to Bucharest via Transfăgărășan Highway – Hike to the Main Ridge

Drive along the stunning Transfăgărășan highway, one of the most scenic roads in the world. We’ll stop at breathtaking viewpoints along the way and continue to Lake Bâlea, where we’ll embark on a 2-hour hike to the ridge and back. Enjoy stunning views and fantastic photo opportunities.

After the hike, we’ll continue our scenic drive through the Carpathians back to your original airport of arrival — Bucharest, Sibiu, or Brașov — arriving in the evening with your camera full of memories and your heart full of Transylvanian charm.

Please note: The Transfăgărășan Highway is open only from June to October. If you’re traveling outside this period, we can arrange an alternative hike or a cultural day tailored to your interests.
